SAVE THE PLAZA THEATRE w/ Robert Moon and Cindra Stolk re: 128 S. Palm Cyn., Dr. Palm Springs, CA. 92262.
– Report on the $12 million proposed restoration of the Historic Plaza Theater, that originally opened 12.12.1936 w/ a screening of “Camille” w/ Greta Garbo.
– It’s Colonial Spanish building. Julia Cornell was instrumental in building the Theatre. Many of the original furnishings etc., are still there.
– DISCUSSION of the history of the Theatre.
– REPORT that the building was built so well it meets most of the building codes TODAY.
– DISCUSSION of the “naming opportunities” available.
– 2/15 – Nancy Sinatra will do the “fundraiser” held in the Theatre. All 720 seats are sold out.
